The pitch
Held every four years the UEFA Women's EURO is the greatest event in women's football alongside the FIFA World Cup. It has grown from eight participating teams in 2005 to 12 teams this year. The tournament will be held in Helsinki, Lahti, Tampere and Turku.
The cast
12 teams divided into 3 groups.
Group A: Finland, Ukraine, Denmark, Netherlands
Group B: Germany, Iceland, Norway, France
Group C: Sweden, England, Russia, Italy
Germany and their stars Birgit Prinz (striker), Renate Lingor (playmaker) and Nadine Angerer (goalkeeper) are the favourites of the competition, having won the last four editions. The Nordic countries, especially Norway, finalists in 2005, are their main rivals.
The broadcast
Eurosport Group is host broadcaster of the event and will produce and broadcast all 25 matches LIVE (22 matches on Eurosport, 3 matches on Eurosport 2). The production will be in HD. Right before some matches Eurosport's on-site journalists will do LIVE interviews with a special guest to introduce the match. There will also be LIVE interviews right after the match.
